Ahead of the upcoming second weekend of the popular Coachella festival, an experienced festival-goer has shared insights into the actual expenses involved in attending the Desert event.
During the initial weekend of the Coachella music festival, attendees enjoyed performances by renowned artists like Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, and Anyma as headline acts, among other musical talents. The festival’s first segment ran from April 10 to April 12, with the subsequent weekend scheduled from April 17 to April 19.
While numerous attendees will share their festival experiences on social media, one individual, Julia Handra, has provided detailed advice based on her firsthand experiences at Coachella for the past two years.
In addition to practical tips such as where to freshen up and what essentials to pack, Julia has also outlined the anticipated expenses that participants are likely to face during their festival weekend in Indio, California, located east of Palm Springs.
Beginning her breakdown of costs, Julia addressed the expenses related to tickets and lodging, emphasizing the cost-saving benefits of opting for more budget-friendly accommodation options.
“To begin with, acquiring tickets to enter the festival is essential, priced at approximately $1100 (£811) for two wristbands, similar to previous years,” she noted. “Choosing to car camp represents the most economical accommodation choice for two individuals at Coachella. Last year, this option amounted to a total of $180 (£132) for two people over four nights, equating to a mere $22.50 (£16.60) per night, offering unmatched value.”
Regarding transportation costs, Julia disclosed that they spent $28 (£20) on fuel for the journey from their residence in Los Angeles to Coachella Valley, highlighting the variability of this cost based on the starting location and mode of transportation.
“Thus far, the total expenditure for tickets, accommodation, and transportation is $1308 (£999.85). However, the subsequent categories offer opportunities to reduce or adjust costs,” Julia explained.
