A leading health specialist has expressed serious apprehensions regarding the health status of US President Donald Trump. Trump, who will be 80 years old in June, is scheduled for his third medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Center within a span of 13 months, as confirmed by the White House. This visit has sparked increasing speculation about his well-being.
While it is customary for presidents to visit Walter Reed once a year, Trump has made two visits in 2025 alone. Initially citing one visit for an MRI, it was later revealed to be a CT scan. The White House has affirmed that all of Trump’s visits to Walter Reed have been duly reported.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated last month that there have been no undisclosed visits to Walter Reed by Trump. Renowned cardiologist Jonathan Reiner highlighted the lack of transparency from the White House regarding Trump’s health, emphasizing that age-related medical issues are common in older individuals.
Reiner, a professor at The George Washington University Hospital, expressed concern over the visible swelling in Trump’s legs. The White House disclosed in July that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that causes blood pooling in the lower legs due to difficulty in vein function.
Despite Trump’s medical report in April 2025 not mentioning this condition, Reiner suggested that any development post that report could indicate acute edema, requiring a thorough evaluation to rule out conditions like congestive heart failure. There was no mention of this condition in Trump’s October medical report as per the Daily Beast.
The ongoing debate on Trump’s health has focused on various issues, including recurrent bruising on his hands, which the White House linked to frequent handshakes. Reiner noted the unusual bruising on Trump’s left hand, raising doubts about the handshake explanation.
