Donald Trump has sparked health concerns just ahead of an important White House medical examination after photos showed his hand looking unusual. The US President, who is nearing 80 years old, participated in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia alongside Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth. Despite the event proceeding smoothly, Trump’s discolored hand caught the attention of online observers, a common sight during his public appearances.
During the wreath-laying ceremony, Trump’s bruised hand was prominently visible as he saluted and interacted with military officials. Social media users remarked on the discoloration, with one likening it to ground hamburger and another describing it as giant and blue. Journalist Aaron Rupar highlighted the timing of the bruise appearing just before Trump’s scheduled visit to Walter Reed hospital, expressing concern over his hand’s condition.
The upcoming medical checkup at Walter Reed will be Trump’s fourth known examination, occurring shortly before his 80th birthday. Despite assertions from the White House that Trump is in excellent health, speculations about the bruises on his hands persist, attributed to aspirin use and frequent handshakes. Additionally, observations of leg swelling are linked to a mild age-related condition called chronic venous insufficiency.
Trump maintains a dedicated medical team for private checkups, utilizing Walter Reed for more serious health issues. The hospital’s advanced capabilities, including imaging facilities and complex procedures, offer comprehensive medical care beyond what the White House medical team can provide. Walter Reed previously attended to Trump during his battle with Covid in 2020, conducting scans as a precautionary measure to rule out cardiovascular problems.
