“Convicted Soham Murderer Ian Huntley Attacked in Prison”

Date:

A source from within the prison has revealed that Ian Huntley, the convicted murderer from the Soham case, made significant changes prior to the recent attack on him. Huntley, serving a life sentence at HMP Frankland in Durham, was discovered injured after the assault. The primary suspect, identified as triple killer Anthony Russell, reportedly confessed to the attack as he was being escorted by prison staff.

Huntley was convicted of the murders of Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells in 2002 in Soham, Cambridgeshire. Recently, he had started working in a prison workshop and using the gym, bringing him into closer contact with fellow inmates who may have wanted to harm him.

According to an individual who interacted with Huntley at Frankland, inmates had long sought the opportunity to target him. Huntley was reportedly held in an ‘enhanced’ wing, where high-profile prisoners are separated from the general population. The source mentioned that Huntley, along with other notorious inmates like Levi Belfield and Wayne Couzens, were kept together for security reasons.

The insider disclosed that Huntley and other inmates on his wing were involved in a recycling workshop, making Huntley more accessible to potential attackers. Previous attempts had been made on Huntley’s life, including incidents in 2005 and 2010. Damien Fowkes, who admitted to the attempted murder of Huntley and the killing of another inmate, had inflicted a severe wound on Huntley in the past.
