A tragic incident unfolded as a couple, Mariano Robles, 28, and Solana Albornoz, 32, perished in a flash flood after being stranded in their car following a severe storm. The pair, who had just left a wedding celebration in Argentina, were last seen joyfully dancing with friends before deciding to wait out the storm before heading home to their two young children.
Despite informing their nanny of their delay due to the weather conditions, Mariano and Solana met a devastating fate as their vehicle was swept away by a sudden flood. Concerns arose when they failed to return home the next morning, prompting a social media alert from worried relatives and wedding guests.
Tragically, their white Nissan Versa was discovered overturned in an irrigation canal after being caught in the forceful floodwaters. Mariano’s brother initiated search efforts, leading to the grim discovery of the couple’s lifeless bodies locked in an embrace inside the vehicle.
Mariano, a civil servant at the Tucum Government Palace, and Solana, an employee at the state-run savings bank, Caja Popular de Ahorros, were known for their unwavering dedication to their children. Their sudden and untimely demise has left their loved ones devastated.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths is ongoing. Regrettably, Mariano and Solana were among three casualties of the severe storm, with a 12-year-old boy also losing his life in a separate incident during the storm in the Tucum region.
The young boy, Lisandro, tragically died from electrocution after coming into contact with a utility pole while playing football with friends in San Miguel de Tucum. The community mourns the loss of these individuals in the wake of the devastating storm.
