Wren Kitchens has suddenly closed all 15 of its stores following a recent declaration of bankruptcy liquidation. This decision has resulted in the displacement of all employees at those locations as the British company exits the US market.
The prominent kitchen retailer in the UK has shut down its East Coast US showrooms and Wren Kitchen Studios within Home Depot stores. These closures come in the wake of the company initiating Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation proceedings in the US on April 24.
According to Home Depot, they were not informed in advance about Wren’s closure operations in the US, including the shutdown of their showrooms within Home Depot stores. They are currently assessing the impact on Wren customers and are prepared to assist those with inquiries or concerns by directing them to Wren.
A notice on the Wren website confirms the closure of their showrooms and studios, advising visitors to fill out a form for assistance if needed.
Operating as Wren US Holdings Inc., the family-owned business filed for bankruptcy in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, stating assets between $100 million (£73 million) and $500 million (£370 million).
Reports indicate that staff at the affected outlets were not given any warning before being laid off, leaving many customers uncertain about potential refunds for payments made to Wren. Some customers are now facing the dilemma of having paid in full for kitchen orders that may not be fulfilled.
By early 2026, Wren Kitchens had expanded to over 110 showrooms across the UK, with plans for further growth and expansion in major towns and cities nationwide.
The Mirror has reached out to Wren Kitchens for their response to the situation.
