Deceptive Animal Rescue Center Raises Concerns

Date:

A concerned dog owner suspects that his beloved pet may have been laid to rest at a deceptive animal rescue center, where numerous dogs perished in appalling conditions. Daryll Olde is urging law enforcement to conduct a thorough search of the Save A Paw facility. The call for action comes after Oaveed Rahman, 26, was convicted for abandoning 41 dogs and one cat to die without food or water. Last May, authorities discovered the remains of the deceased animals, along with 20 surviving dogs, at a property in Crays Hill, Essex.

Mr. Olde, worried that his dog might be among the deceased, believes there could be a substantial number of hidden pets at the Hope Road site. Despite the challenges posed by the site’s condition, Essex Police is leading a nationwide investigation to identify the owners of the deceased animals found in varying stages of decomposition.

Rahman, who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, fraud, and owning a prohibited XL Bully breed, received a five-year prison sentence and a lifelong ban on keeping dogs and cats. The severity of his crimes was underscored by Judge Richard Conley at Basildon Crown Court.

Caroline Park, another pet owner, entrusted her dogs Deebo and Demon to Save A Paw due to personal circumstances. While Deebo was successfully rehomed, the fate of Demon remains unknown to her, leaving her in distress. Both Mr. Olde and Ms. Park have emphasized the need for a comprehensive investigation into the matter, likening it to a serious criminal case.

Essex Police authorities expressed their commitment to addressing the distressing situation at the compound, acknowledging the limitations in providing closure to every affected individual. The emotional toll of the investigation was palpable among law enforcement officials, with Inspector Steve Parry highlighting the profound impact of the case on all involved.

The RSPCA echoed similar sentiments, recognizing the emotional turmoil experienced by those who entrusted their pets to Save A Paw.
