A man with disabilities shared a terrifying experience where he claimed he was forcibly removed from his vehicle and assaulted by an enraged driver shortly after suffering a seizure while driving, leading to a crash.
Louie Watkins, who has epilepsy, was driving in Gravesend, Kent, when he lost control of his car and veered across the road. Subsequently, he collided with another vehicle before hitting a tree.
Following the crash, Louie alleged that he was physically attacked after being pulled out of his car. Despite his attempts to explain his medical condition, he reported being punched and kicked while on the ground in a defensive position.
Disturbing images depicted the extent of his injuries. Upon regaining consciousness, Louie found emergency services on the scene and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, where it was revealed he sustained various injuries, including a black eye.
Narrating the incident, Louie recounted leaving his girlfriend’s house around 8:45 am when he sensed a seizure coming on due to his epilepsy. He described feeling disoriented and swerving before waking up to the aftermath of the crash.
Louie mentioned that his car had brushed against another vehicle before the collision but believed there were no injuries to the occupants. He recalled a man furiously attempting to gain access to his vehicle and assaulting him.
After being forcibly removed from his car, Louie recounted being physically attacked while still recovering from the seizure. He was later hospitalized at Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment and observation.
Kent Police confirmed responding to the incident on New Barn Road and arresting a 47-year-old man on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. The suspect was released on conditional bail pending further investigation.
Authorities urged any witnesses or individuals with relevant dashcam footage to contact the police for assistance in the ongoing investigation.
