“Discovery of Five Infants’ Remains in France”

Date:

A discovery of five deceased infants concealed in cardboard containers was made by a man in France’s Provence region. The unsettling findings occurred on July 29, with the individuals involved remaining unnamed due to legal constraints.

The couple engaged in a dispute regarding the contents of the boxes shortly after the woman gave birth, following a pregnancy she had denied. This was reportedly the third instance of her denying pregnancy. Subsequently, the woman experienced abdominal discomfort and sought medical attention while her husband stayed at home.

Notably, the man investigated the boxes they had been arguing over and uncovered the remains of the five infants, described as decomposed and having been there for an extended period. Law enforcement was promptly notified by the husband, leading to an ongoing investigation into the matter.

The couple, who have three living children of ages eight, twelve, and a newborn, await the results of medical examinations to determine the nature, circumstances, and timing of the infants’ deaths. Initial forensic assessments, including autopsies, were conducted on Wednesday, July 29.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. This case has drawn comparisons to previous instances of newborn murders in the country, including a recent case where a woman was sentenced to 25 years for the deaths of two newborns found in a freezer. Additionally, historical cases involved convictions of individuals for similar crimes involving newborn fatalities.
