Prison officials are taking extensive measures to ensure that the cruel duo who abused young Preston Davey are separated for the remainder of their prison terms, as per sources within the correctional facility.
John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, is anticipated to be relocated to HMP Manchester, commonly known as Strangeways, which has housed prominent criminals like Harold Shipman, Dale Cregan, Ian Brady, and Charles Bronson.
McGowan-Fazakerley was sentenced to 25 years for his involvement in the death of a child, child cruelty, and sexual abuse. His accomplice, Jamie Varley, 37, who falsely claimed Preston’s death was accidental, was given a whole life term for murder, child cruelty, sexual offenses, and possessing indecent images.
Varley reportedly experienced a harrowing first night at ‘Monster Mansion,’ where he was overwhelmed with fear in his cell amid threats from fellow inmates seeking retribution for the heinous acts committed against Preston.
Inmates at HMP Wakefield, where Varley was promptly transferred after the court verdict, reportedly gave him a hostile reception, signaling that he is unwelcome and will face repercussions for his actions behind bars.
Insiders reveal that McGowan-Fazakerley is being moved to another high-security prison with a target on his back, emphasizing that despite the focus on Varley, McGowan-Fazakerley is also a marked man for the despicable offenses he committed.
Both prisoners are expected to be kept in isolation, closely monitored by guards to ensure their safety. The ominous prison atmosphere suggests that McGowan-Fazakerley and Varley will not serve their sentences together and face continuous threats from fellow inmates.
HMP Strangeways, known for its tough reputation, has been flagged for serious concerns regarding drug use, violence, and self-harm incidents. The prison’s issues with maintaining order and controlling dangerous offenders have raised alarms among inspectors.
A source familiar with the situation painted a bleak picture of McGowan-Fazakerley’s future in prison, indicating that he is in for a challenging and unpleasant stay.
