After facing significant delays, customers are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Donald Trump’s gold MAGA phone, which is now being shipped out. Concerns have been raised regarding the origin and quality of the product, with critics suggesting it may be a Chinese-made device disguised as an American product.
Trump Mobile CEO Pat O’Brien has confirmed that pre-ordered phones are finally being delivered after experiencing delays due to manufacturing processes and quality checks. Customers who paid a $100 deposit for the ‘T1’ device, priced at $499, will receive updates as their orders are fulfilled.
Speculations have arisen about the phone’s manufacturing location, with initial branding suggesting US production. However, comparisons to existing Android devices have raised doubts. Trump Mobile has shifted its messaging, stating the phone was designed with American values in mind.
The exact manufacturing location remains undisclosed, and recent updates to the company’s terms and conditions have drawn further scrutiny. Deposits made by customers do not guarantee the availability of the device for purchase, but rather offer a conditional opportunity to buy if the company decides to proceed.
Originally planned for launch in August last year, demand for the phone has been high, despite criticisms of the rollout. Additionally, a 5G plan for the phone is available at $47.45 per month.
