A despicable criminal deceived his way into the residence of a 95-year-old woman, where he restrained her and demanded her purse, according to authorities.
The perpetrator gained access by offering to clean the elderly woman’s windows but then proceeded to bind her hands and coerce her into handing over her belongings.
The cowardly thief was interrupted and fled when a companion of the elderly woman arrived at the house in Little Hulton, Salford, and confronted him. The police confirmed that the victim was unharmed and is currently receiving support from law enforcement after the incident occurred at 11 am on Tuesday.
The Greater Manchester Police stated that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident yet but assured that investigations are ongoing.
Authorities mentioned that there will be heightened police presence in the vicinity in the following days and urged individuals to provide any evidence or information they may have.
Detective Inspector Paul Davies praised the swift action of the woman’s friend who intervened and alerted the authorities, potentially preventing a more severe outcome.

Members of the public have been asked to provide any CCTV footage from dashcams or doorbells that could assist in the investigation.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police noted, “No arrests have been made yet, but extensive inquiries are ongoing, and additional police presence will be maintained in the area in the upcoming days.”
The description of the suspect provided by authorities indicates a white male in his late 60s to early 70s, with short mousy brown hair, clean-shaven, wearing glasses, a dark raincoat jacket, jeans, and dark-colored shoes.
