England vs. Mexico World Cup Clash: Pubs Stay Open until 5 am

Date:

Sir Keir Starmer delighted pubs, bars, and football enthusiasts by announcing an extension of licensing hours until 5 am for England’s upcoming World Cup knockout game against Mexico. The Prime Minister bypassed local bureaucracy, eliminating the need for venues to seek special permissions, allowing numerous establishments to stay open late.

As fans gear up for the high-stakes last 16 match at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium, kicking off at 1 am UK time, many pubs are expected to remain closed. Police are bracing for potential issues while fans strategize where to watch the game as England faces Mexico in a challenging clash.

While only a handful of Wetherspoon’s pubs will open, Greene King’s majority of venues will welcome customers. Additionally, independent and selected chain pubs like Boxpark, Young’s, and Fuller, Smith & Turner will also be open for the match.

Several pubs across the UK have confirmed their opening for the England vs. Mexico game on Monday morning. Football enthusiasts are urged to plan ahead to catch the action on big screens.
