“Former Police Officer’s Dark Obsession Leads to Jail Again”

Date:

A former police officer with a dark obsession for serial killers like Jack the Ripper and the Moors Murderers has been sentenced to jail once again. Brian Darby, 80, was previously imprisoned for life in 2002 for attempting to carry out his murderous fantasies. After being released on license in 2017, Darby quickly resumed his disturbing behavior by engaging in online discussions about his desire to rape and kill women and girls.

His latest arrest in February stemmed from the creation and distribution of indecent images of children using artificial intelligence. Subsequent investigations uncovered a trail of online conversations where Darby shared graphic fantasies about rape and murder, including disturbing content posted on Reddit. In court, it was revealed that Darby expressed intentions to strangle, smother, and drown women, even detailing a twisted scenario of strangling his wife with the support of family members.

Despite his emotional detachment and lack of remorse, Darby was sentenced to four years in prison, with an additional two years on license upon release. The judge highlighted Darby’s history of violent sexual offenses and deemed him a dangerous individual with a deep-rooted interest in violent content involving both children and adults.

Darby’s troubling past includes being dismissed from the police force in the 1970s for indecently assaulting young boys and later working for the BBC in the 1980s. He formed a disturbing partnership with a teenage girl named Jeannette White, leading to convictions for conspiracy to murder in 2001. Their collaboration involved exchanging letters about serial killing, rape, and other gruesome acts.

In a chilling turn of events, Darby and White plotted a murder in Westminster and targeted potential victims through deceitful means. Darby’s attempt to attack a woman in Ealing in 2002 was thwarted when she bravely escaped his grasp. Despite his guilty pleas to various charges related to indecent communications and images, Darby must now undergo further assessment by the Parole Board before any potential release.

Detective Inspector Andy Cook of the Met’s Online Child Sexual Abuse Exploitation team condemned Darby’s actions as reprehensible and emphasized the seriousness of such offenses. The investigation and subsequent arrest were a result of diligent digital forensic work by the Met detectives, culminating in Darby being held accountable for his disturbing behavior.
