The explosion at the Parchin military complex, a key site linked to Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons program, has attracted attention. This location was reportedly targeted in airstrikes by Israel earlier this year.
Trump has suggested the possibility of ordering strikes on Iran in response to the regime’s violent suppression of protesters in Tehran. Previous US actions against Iran had a significant impact on its nuclear activities and support for militias in the region.
According to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, the death toll from the crackdown is estimated to be around 6,126 individuals, including protesters, government forces, children, and civilians. Tehran authorities, however, claim a lower toll of 3,117 deaths, categorizing some as “terrorists.”
