A tragic incident on a motorway in Totana, Spain, resulted in the death of a 42-year-old British mother in front of her family. The fatal crash involved a van she was traveling in and a lorry, causing injuries to her three family members, including a seven-year-old girl. Emergency services responded to the scene, where one person was flung from the vehicle and found on the road. An 18-year-old man with serious injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital, while a seven-year-old girl and a 40-year-old man sustained less severe injuries. Two lorry drivers also received treatment for minor injuries. The 112 emergency service in Spain described the incident as “extremely serious,” with images showing wreckage scattered on the road. Shattered glass from the crash was visible on the A-7 motorway. Authorities indicated that distraction may have played a role in the deadly collision, with a full investigation currently underway. Following the crash, significant traffic delays occurred as rescuers closed a lane of the motorway for emergency crews to work at the scene.
