A man has tragically passed away in a suspected poisoning incident that occurred on a busy street in Leicester.
Authorities from Leicestershire Police responded to an emergency call in the Clarendon Park neighborhood around 1:45 pm on Saturday, April 11, after receiving reports of a man falling ill at a residence.
Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene, leading to the closure of Queen’s Road as both Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the location.
Despite receiving immediate medical attention on-site and being transported to the hospital, the man unfortunately succumbed to his condition shortly after, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.
Subsequent to initial investigations by the police, a 41-year-old male was apprehended under suspicion of administering toxic substances. He has since been released on bail, according to reports from Leicestershire Live.
