One fatality and a severe injury have been reported after an active shooter incident at Elko Regional Airport in Nevada, United States. The airport has been shut down in response to the situation that occurred on Monday, April 13.
Lieutenant Shane Daz of the Elko Police Department confirmed that authorities were alerted about the active shooter at 12:30 PM local time on Monday. Upon arrival, one individual was discovered deceased.
KSL TV has indicated that the deceased individual is a minor. The Elko Police Department released a statement stating, “Police are examining a crime scene at the Elko Airport, which is currently inaccessible to all traffic. We will provide updates when the airport reopens.”
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
