Firefighters are currently engaged in extinguishing a fire at an adventure play park situated in the West Midlands. Authorities have advised the public to avoid Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood this evening.
The West Midlands Fire Service issued a warning about the fire just prior to 8.30 pm today. Four firefighting crews are on-site battling a fire within the trees at the well-known park, as reported by BirminghamLive.
In a statement, the West Midlands Fire Service mentioned, “We have deployed four crews to address a fire in the trees at Meriden Park, Chelmsley Wood, Solihull. We urge individuals to steer clear of the area if possible.”
Meriden Adventure Playground, in addition to featuring a substantial natural lake and woodland, is a prominent adventure play destination. Managed by an independent charity, it offers a sizeable children’s play zone, skate park, and football field.
The park hosts various community events throughout the year and is especially popular during school breaks.
