“Flight Disrupted: Woman Bites Officer over Luggage Dispute”

Date:

A woman caused disruption on a flight by allegedly biting a police officer when she refused to pay for her overweight hand luggage.

Despite being stopped by airline staff from boarding a JetSmart flight due to her excess baggage, the woman managed to sneak past checks and board the plane just before it was scheduled to leave Buenos Aires for Cordoba.

Authorities were called to remove her from the aircraft, resulting in a struggle inside the cabin where the woman reportedly bit a female officer on the right arm. Passengers filmed the incident as officers worked to restrain her, eventually leading to her removal from the plane.

The altercation occurred at Jorge Newbery Airpark in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the woman receiving medical treatment for minor injuries post-arrest.

The flight was briefly delayed due to the incident. JetSmart had been conducting thorough hand-luggage checks, including requesting passengers to remove jackets to prevent concealed items, although the airline has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.

The woman has been detained as per the order of Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Federal Court No. 3. Statements have been taken from the injured officer, a shift supervisor, and JetSmart crew members who witnessed the event. The case is currently under judicial review, with no formal charges announced yet.
