Fugitive Dine-and-Dash Lawyer Flaunts Lavish Life Abroad

Date:

A former glamorous attorney infamous for her alleged dine-and-dash escapades has shared photos of her carefree life abroad, despite being wanted by law enforcement. Kerry Stevens, aged 40, has four outstanding arrest warrants and is suspected to be residing in the Lorraine region of northwest France with a relative. Disbarred following a conviction for refusing to settle a £60 bill at a Harvester restaurant, Stevens recently posted a picture on her social media account enjoying Disneyland Paris with typical tourist accessories like Mickey Mouse ears and a bubble wand. Despite pleas from her family to face the legal consequences, Stevens did not appear in court.

According to a close family friend interviewed by the media, when the police attempted to locate Stevens again, her mother informed them that she had departed. Authorities have noted Stevens’ connections to Shoebury and Westcliff in Essex. In 2024, she was charged with 11 instances of leaving without payment and one count of shoplifting, and she maintains her innocence, awaiting trial next year.

Her reported accomplice, Daniel Alani, was initially under investigation for a dine-and-dash incident at The Castle Inn in Little Wakering, Essex. The pair allegedly skipped paying for a prawn cocktail, two roast chicken dinners with additional lamb, breaded mushrooms, orange juice, a glass of pinot wine, and two cokes. Ken Todd, the pub landlord, mentioned that despite a modest bill of £62, he would have offered them food if they were genuinely hungry. Alani pleaded guilty to multiple charges earlier this year, including theft and leaving without payment.

Stevens and Alani, both previously residing in Southend, were locally identified for targeting eateries and taxi services by attempting to leave without settling their bills or cab fares. Their attempted escape without clearing a £127 bill at The Pearl Dragon restaurant in Southend also made headlines. Authorities have described Stevens as approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, with blonde hair and often seen wearing large glasses, with ties to Shoebury and Westcliff areas.

Essex Police issued a renewed appeal in February this year for information on Kerry Stevens, urging anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward through their website or Live Chat service. For detailed reporting services, individuals are encouraged to visit the Essex Police website or contact the authorities directly.
