“Gang Leader with Violent Past Sentenced for Brutal Assault”

Date:

A notorious criminal linked to a gang whose member insulted a judge and acted disrespectfully during a trial had a dark and disturbing history of violently terrorizing a local neighborhood.

Jason Hennessy Jr, aged 29, along with four other members of his family-run criminal organization, were convicted of viciously assaulting Barry Moore by beating, burning, stabbing, and branding him with the word “RAT” using a hot branding iron. The assault took place in Dublin, Ireland, at a house on Sheephill Avenue in a shocking incident on February 12.

The gang members, who displayed arrogance as they were escorted to court, received sentences ranging from three to eight-and-a-half years, with the harshest punishment given to Hennessy for his offensive behavior.

According to reports from the Irish Mirror, the gang had been causing fear in the Corduff area of Dublin due to ongoing feuds, with Hennessy being the leader responsible for orchestrating the violent attack on Mr. Moore. This incident shed light on the extreme level of violence perpetrated by the Hennessy gang.

Hennessy had previously featured in the Virgin Media documentary “‘Inside the K,” which focused on the policing activities in the Corduff area by law enforcement.

With a history of court appearances related to violent acts, Hennessy had been involved in various attacks. In a previous case in 2018, he received a suspended sentence for violent disorder linked to an incident on Dublin’s D’Olier Street in May 2015.

One of the victims, Dylan Campbell, was violently assaulted by Hennessy with a hammer, causing severe injuries. The court learned that Hennessy and his gang would boast about their criminal acts on social media.

During the trial, Hennessy disrupted the court proceedings with an outburst towards a police officer, denying ownership of certain trucks. He received a sentence of eight and a half years for the assault, while another gang member, Brandon Hennessy, was sentenced to six years.

Hennessy’s sentence for the assault, committed while on bail, will run consecutively to his existing sentence ending in February 2028. Devon Hennessy, who tried to intervene in the assault, received a three-year prison term after pleading guilty early on.

Dean Fitzsimons, who insulted Judge Paula Murphy in court, was sentenced to eight and a half years, while his father Kenneth Fitzsimons received an eight-year prison term.
