A tragic car accident has claimed the life of a six-month-old infant named Noah Carpenter. The incident occurred when a white SUV, carrying Noah along with his parents Jake and Kelly Carpenter, was struck from behind by a black SUV at an intersection. The family was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency services before being taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
Regrettably, Noah did not survive his injuries. Kelly, the mother, is currently in critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery for a severe traumatic brain injury. Jake, the father, also required surgery for a serious aorta injury but is expected to recover fully.
In response to the tragedy, a family friend initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Noah’s funeral expenses and to assist with covering the medical bills for Kelly and Jake. The police are actively investigating the accident that took place at the junction of Buffalo Road and Howard Road in Gates, New York, on March 5th at approximately 10:15 am.
The GoFundMe page details the events, stating that all three individuals were rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital. While Noah tragically succumbed to his injuries, Jake is expected to recover fully, though Kelly’s condition remains critical. The couple, who have no other children, are currently hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. The crowdfunding effort has garnered around $160,000 (£120,000) in donations, including contributions from compassionate strangers.
According to a police spokesperson, the accident involved a black SUV colliding with the rear of the white SUV, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. The white SUV contained three occupants—a driver, a front-seat passenger, and Noah in a child safety seat.
The intersection of Buffalo Road and Howard Road, located in the town of Gates near Rochester, New York, is a bustling four-way junction. To support the Carpenter family through their challenging time, donations can be made via the GoFundMe page linked here.
