Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent activities by not fulfilling her obligations to establish and promote her mental health startup. The investors, who put in nearly $1.2 million US ($1.67 million) in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” filed the lawsuit in federal court in Delaware. They claim that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, was supposed to take an active role in developing the company as its marketing head. However, the investors argue that Gomez and other executives failed to deliver on commitments, including the development of a mobile application.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly agreed to a contract to fulfill certain responsibilities but did not follow through. The plaintiffs assert that the company did not have a viable business plan and did not meet even the most basic obligations, such as timely payments to employees and vendors. A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comments.
The lawsuit highlights that the investors were unaware of the company’s issues until they were disclosed in an online news article in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
