“Iran Strikes US Frigate in Strait of Hormuz”

Date:

Two missiles from Iran have reportedly hit a US Navy frigate in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran claimed the frigate ignored a warning. The incident occurred near Jask as the frigate ventured into the global shipping route, violating traffic and shipping security protocols. Following the disregard of Iran’s Navy warning, the frigate was targeted by a missile attack, prompting its retreat from the area, according to reports from the Fars news agency.

The extent of damage and any potential casualties resulting from the attack are yet to be confirmed. The reported strike follows a statement by President Donald Trump, who announced that American forces would start escorting ships of nations unrelated to the conflict through the Strait of Hormuz for the benefit of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States. The President did not specify the particular countries included in this initiative.
