Iran Threatens Strait of Hormuz Closure Over Israeli Strikes

Date:

Iran has declared the closure of the Strait of Hormuz once again. The nation’s joint military command referenced Israeli assaults in Lebanon and criticized the US for not upholding its commitments to end the conflict. In a statement broadcasted on state TV, Iran warned of planned actions if the aggression persists.

Recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of 16 individuals, including two children. Following the strikes in Nabatieh and neighboring areas, seven individuals were reported trapped under debris, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

An intense clash between Israel and Hezbollah led to the deaths of at least 47 people in Lebanon and four Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah reportedly launched over 50 projectiles at Israeli forces, prompting Israeli military retaliation targeting Hezbollah positions and militants in southern Lebanon.

Despite committing to a ceasefire, Hezbollah accused Israel of multiple violations on Friday night, vowing to defend against further Israeli incursions.
