Liverpool Cafe Shooting: Man Hospitalized, Police Enforce Stop-and-Search

A man has been hospitalized following a shooting incident at a cafe in Liverpool. Police rushed to Bala Bs Soul Food Kitchen on Lodge Lane in Toxteth after reports of gunfire around 5 pm on Friday. Merseyside Police deployed armed units to the scene, leading to the closure of Lodge Lane between Bentley Road and Seacole Close.

The man sustained a gunshot wound, which authorities believe is not life-threatening. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. A Section 60 stop-and-search order is now enforced until a review scheduled for 6.59 pm.

The specified area under the stop-and-search order includes Upper Parliament Street, Smithtown Road, Greenbank Road, North Mossley Hill Road, Queens Drive, Aigburth Vale, Carnatic Road, Victoria Road, Ashfield Road, Aigburth Road, Park Road, Park Place, and St James Place.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Nuttall condemned the shooting, labeling it as a dangerous and reckless act that could have resulted in more harm. Nuttall emphasized the detrimental impact of guns on the community and urged the public to provide any information that could lead to the identification of the perpetrator.

Residents in the vicinity are encouraged to review their CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to assist the investigation. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Merseyside Police through social media channels or by calling 101, quoting incident number 809 of June 19.
