Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Offered Royal Stay in UK

Date:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been extended an offer to stay in royal accommodations during their upcoming visit to the UK. The couple, now residing in the luxurious town of Montecito, California, is planning a brief return to the UK next month.

Previously, Prince Harry declined an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace due to security concerns related to the palace’s high-profile status. The specific royal residence offered to them for their forthcoming stay remains undisclosed as they prepare for their first family trip to the UK in four years.

Assurances have been made to the duke regarding the security arrangements for their upcoming trip, where they will be accompanied by their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five. The couple has not yet responded to the accommodation offer, as reported by the BBC.

During their visit, the children are expected to reunite with their grandfather, the King, whom they last saw in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Whether the King will meet his youngest grandchildren during this visit remains uncertain.

The purpose of their return trip is to participate in events marking the one-year countdown to the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham next year. Prince Harry recently reunited with his father, Charles, after a 19-month gap, during which Charles was undergoing cancer treatment.

In a previous legal battle over security arrangements in the UK in 2025, Prince Harry expressed his desire for reconciliation with his family in a BBC interview. He mentioned challenges in communication with Charles due to the security dispute, indicating hesitance in bringing his family back to the UK.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Prince Harry has made various public statements and accusations against the King, the Queen, his brother, and sister-in-law. Allegations of jealousy, lack of emotional support, and strained relationships have been highlighted in interviews, documentaries, and his autobiography since relocating to the US.

The Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded service personnel and veterans, will be hosted in Birmingham from July 10-17 next year. The Mirror has reached out to both the Palace and the Sussexes for official comments.
