Speaking on Press TV, a Lebanese Hezbollah official, Nawaf al Moussawi, speculated that while the US might consider an attack, it is hesitant due to the unpredictable aftermath of such a move.
Al Moussawi remarked that President Trump is either looking to negotiate with Iran or dismantle its government. He emphasized that hostile actions from the US would not be sufficient to overthrow the ruling Islamic establishment in Iran, citing ongoing US efforts to destabilize the Iranian political system since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Regarding Hezbollah’s response to a US attack on Iran, Al Moussawi stated that they would address the situation when it arises, hinting at a potential political upheaval. Recent tensions escalated when President Trump announced the deployment of a naval fleet towards Iran, stating that they are closely monitoring the situation.
Reports from Israel’s Channel 13 indicated the presence of a US carrier strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln, along with guided-missile destroyers and submarines carrying Tomahawk missiles in the vicinity of Iran. Air defense measures have been reinforced, including the deployment of F-15 fighter jets at US bases in the region.
Amid the rising tensions, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly relocated to a secure underground shelter in Tehran. Mohammad Pakpour, commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, cautioned the US and Israel to avoid any misjudgments, emphasizing Iran’s readiness to act on directives.
