Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a strong statement targeting Donald Trump and US forces. Mojtaba Khamenei commended his forces for resisting American and Israeli “arrogance” and warned of impending “new defeats”. He highlighted how his opponents’ vulnerabilities have been exposed globally.
Mojtaba, who has been absent from public view since the US-Israel conflict with Iran began, was appointed as the new leader following his father’s demise during the initial strikes. In a recent announcement through an Iranian state news agency, he emphasized his army’s resilience against America’s malevolent intentions.
He declared, “Supported by divine and popular backing, our army stands united with other armed forces against the leading forces of disbelief and arrogance, confronting them directly and unveiling their weaknesses to the world. While our drones swiftly target American and Zionist culprits, our courageous navy stands ready to deliver further defeats to our enemies.”
The statement boasting of the Iranian navy’s readiness to inflict “new defeats” follows Iran’s decision to reseal the Strait of Hormuz. Reports have emerged of Iranian gunboats firing at tankers attempting to cross this vital water passage.
Mojtaba concluded his message by extending blessings to all members of the Islamic Republic Army of Iran, including leaders, soldiers, volunteers, and veterans. He also honored the families of martyrs from the ongoing conflict with the US and Israel. The joint military command of Iran affirmed today that they have regained control of the Strait of Hormuz, warning of continued blockades until the US lifts its restrictions on Iranian ports.
According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center, two Iranian Revolutionary Guard gunboats fired upon a tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel and crew were reported safe, although specific details about the incident were not disclosed.
