“Jet2 Flight Leaves Passengers Stranded at Manchester Airport”

Date:

Passengers at Manchester Airport were stunned as a Jet2 flight bound for Spain departed without them. Dozens of travelers were left stranded in a stairwell after presenting their passports and boarding passes, waiting for up to 40 minutes with no explanation.

The group of around 35 passengers was informed of an “error on the stairwell directions.” Jet2 apologized for the incident, stating it was being treated as a priority.

Matt, a traveler scheduled for the Alicante flight, expressed disbelief at the situation, noting that Jet2 staff claimed such an occurrence had never happened before. He described how passengers, after boarding was announced, followed others down stairs assuming they would be led to the plane or a bus.

An airport employee eventually approached the stranded passengers to inform them that the plane had left. Matt was surprised to learn that headcounts were not conducted after boarding began, leaving the flight significantly under capacity.

Affected passengers received a £10 voucher from Jet2 while awaiting updates on their rescheduled flight. Jet2 responded by stating they were investigating the incident urgently and had arranged alternative flights for the affected customers, expressing apologies for the inconvenience caused.
