“Jet2 Launches VIP Charter Service with Customized Aircraft”

Date:

Jet2, a renowned provider of affordable flights and holiday packages, has revealed its entry into the VIP charter market by introducing a customized aircraft with reduced seating capacity. The new Boeing 737-800NG will accommodate 76 passengers instead of the standard 189, offering increased legroom and an upgraded onboard experience resembling a “business class layout.”

This exclusive aircraft will be exclusively available to Jet2’s charter clientele, not to regular passengers on scheduled holiday flights. Trevor Caplis, Jet2’s head of charter and airline sales, noted that the airline anticipates high demand from sports, music, entertainment, and specialized group customers. He highlighted the premium charter product as an additional offering alongside the airline’s operational efficiency and cost-effective advantages.

Each seat on the aircraft will provide a minimum of 43 inches of legroom, superior comfort levels, and enhanced catering services that can be personalized to suit passengers’ preferences. This marks the first time Jet2 has introduced an aircraft with such a layout, with the company stating that the decision was driven by the increasing demand from its customer base seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility, and a deluxe travel experience.

In a similar vein, Wizz Air, a budget airline, launched a ‘budget business class’ service called Wizz Class, which can be added during booking and is exclusive to front-row passengers. This premium service includes an empty middle seat, complimentary snacks and refreshments, and priority boarding with a 10kg trolley bag allowance. Currently, Wizz Class is available on select flights connecting Budapest, Bucharest Otopeni, London-Luton, London-Gatwick, Rome Fiumicino, and Warsaw.

Recent airline advancements also include economy-class bunk beds that passengers can reserve for ultra-long-haul flights. Air New Zealand introduced ‘Skynest,’ individual sleep pods for passengers on its extended route between New York and Auckland, providing privacy curtains, fresh linens, amenity kits, and essential features like seatbelts, lights, and USB ports for a comfortable and restful journey.
