A man known as King Atehene, who led a group referring to themselves as the Kingdom of Kubala, was deported from the UK by the Home Office. This followed a legal dispute he faced last year with locals, law enforcement, and the council for camping near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.
The group, comprising three members including a woman referred to as his ‘Queen’ and another as his ‘handmaiden’, claimed to be ancient land inheritors and descendants of ‘Black Jacobites’. Despite being asked to vacate the area after four months, they resisted until a police operation in October led to their eviction.
The Home Office has confirmed that Mr. Offeh has been sent back to Ghana. Upon his arrival at Kotoko International Airport in Accra, he reiterated his royal status and hinted at a resurgence of the Kingdom of Kubala.
Living in Scotland with his wife ‘Queen Nandi’ and a third member, the trio faced legal issues and relocations, finally settling on a property owned by the Scottish Borders Council. Following a joint operation involving law enforcement, the group was removed, with belongings discarded into a waste truck.
While Ms. Taylor was briefly detained during the eviction, Ms. Gasho left separately. This incident marked the end of their unconventional living situation in Scotland.
