“Labour Leader Slams Tory U-Turn on Iran Policy”

Date:

Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has criticized Conservative minister Kemi Badenoch for a major policy reversal regarding involvement in the Iran conflict. Badenoch initially supported the US/Israeli actions in the Middle East but later changed her stance within a week.

During a parliamentary session, Prime Minister Boris Johnson taunted Badenoch for her flip-flop on the issue and indicated that the government would reconsider the planned 5p fuel duty increase. Johnson highlighted the importance of reviewing decisions related to committing the UK to war.

In response, Starmer accused Badenoch of the “mother of all U-turns” for shifting her position on such a critical matter. The exchange also touched on the timing of raising petrol prices and the need to de-escalate tensions in Iran.

Johnson assured the public about managing energy bills and emphasized collaborating with allies to prevent bill hikes. The discussion in Parliament underscored the significance of making well-informed decisions on matters of national security and economic stability.
