A leading vape company headquartered in Leicestershire has gone into administration, declaring itself as the largest firm of its kind. JM Wholesale, specializing in vape products like devices, e-liquids, disposable vapes, and nicotine pouches, initiated the administration process on March 20. The company, offering over 15,000 products, appointed administrators Christopher Lewis and Chris Newell from Quantuma through Shakespeare Martineau.
JM Wholesale, established in 2017 by university students seeking top-quality products, grew rapidly over the years. In 2021, it relocated to a larger facility in Leicester, expanding its workforce by 30 employees. The company aimed to operate from the new premises for the next decade. Additionally, as the first mainstream CBD wholesaler in the UK, JM Wholesale played a significant role in the booming CBD industry.
Despite winning several prestigious awards in 2022, including Best Vape & E-liquid Wholesaler and Best CBD Distributor & Manufacturer, JM Wholesale faced challenges. The company’s latest accounts indicated a staff count of 47 as of February 2025, but the specific reasons behind entering administration remain undisclosed.
This development follows the UK’s ban on single-use vapes to combat environmental waste and address youth nicotine addiction. JM Wholesale’s website currently states that they are not accepting orders due to ongoing maintenance.
