The family of Joshua Kershaw, discovered deceased in a Thai hotel, has released a photograph of an unidentified woman they wish to contact. Joshua, aged 21, was found unresponsive in a Bangkok bar on January 13 and subsequently hospitalized. His mother, Jenny, residing in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, revealed in a recent Facebook post that authorities have reopened an investigation into his demise.
“Joshua’s stay in Thailand was brief, approximately 10 hours, before his passing,” Jenny stated. “Recent findings indicate his death is now being treated as a potential case of murder or manslaughter due to the presence of seven different substances in his system at alarmingly high levels, sparking serious concerns.”
“We have been notified that the case in Thailand has been reopened and is under investigation as a possible homicide. We await official confirmation from the UK coroner,” she added.
Jenny has shared a photo of an unknown woman believed to have been with Joshua at the time of his death, appealing for assistance in identifying and reaching out to her promptly. She emphasized the woman’s possession of Joshua’s phone and bag, urging anyone with information to come forward. Additionally, she urged the public to share the information widely to maximize outreach.
Joshua had traveled to the tourist hot spot of Pattaya for a week-long vacation. Concerns arose when he failed to board a return flight to the UK on January 12 and missed a subsequent flight on January 19, prompting authorities to classify him as a high-risk missing person and initiate a search operation.
On Wednesday, January 21, Jenny sadly announced her son’s passing in a poignant Facebook post. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to facilitate the repatriation of Joshua’s remains and cover funeral expenses. The young landscaper, originally from Grimsby, was brought back to the UK last month, with a funeral service held at Wakefield Crematorium.
