A man reportedly fatally stabbed his girlfriend, accusing her of being a spy for Britain. Timur Demidenko, 30, also allegedly decapitated a pigeon before running naked in the streets of St. Petersburg.
Authorities were alerted by concerned neighbors, and Demidenko is said to have admitted to killing his 29-year-old partner, claiming he was protecting Russia from a supposed British agent. Police discovered the woman’s body in a pool of blood in his cluttered apartment, prompting an investigation into the incident involving the Russian victim.
Demidenko confessed to the police and expressed regret for the killing. He is set to undergo psychiatric evaluations as part of a murder inquiry and is currently in pre-trial custody.
In a separate incident in St. Petersburg last year, Yevgeny Andreyev, 36, surrendered to authorities after murdering his girlfriend, Daria ‘Dora’ Perevozchikova, 28, on New Year’s Eve. Following an argument over missing foreign currency, Andreyev attacked Perevozchikova with a mallet, leading to her death. He proceeded to deceive her loved ones with messages from her phone, keeping her decomposing body hidden in their apartment until her father reported her missing.
Andreyev’s lawyer friend persuaded him to turn himself in to the authorities after living with the corpse for three weeks to prevent neighbors from detecting the smell of decay.
