A 50-year-old man has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage boy at a train station. The incident, reported by British Transport Police (BTP), occurred in the restroom of Sheffield Station at approximately 3:30 pm on Friday. The assault was notified by a third party on the same day, and the victim is receiving support from specialized officers, according to Yorkshire Live.
The suspect has been released on bail while further investigations are conducted. Police have maintained a crime scene at the station to conduct forensic examinations.
A BTP spokesperson stated that officers are diligently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and understand the public’s concerns.
