Police in Georgia are on the lookout for a man who allegedly left a woman’s body at a hospital and then fled the scene. Michael Lee Harrelson, 47, drove to Doctors Hospital in Augusta late on Monday night seeking help, but nurses discovered the woman in his car was already deceased. A nurse found the woman unresponsive in the passenger seat of Harrelson’s vehicle and rushed to bring her inside, but Harrelson drove off. Authorities have issued a call on social media for assistance in identifying him.
The deceased woman, identified as Selena Johnson, 41, from Hephzibah near Augusta, was pronounced dead at 10:50 pm. A post-mortem examination has been ordered to determine the cause of her death. Police have not disclosed the relationship between Harrelson and Johnson.
Harrelson is now sought for questioning in relation to the “suspicious death” and has existing warrants for unrelated offenses. He is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 153 pounds, bald, with brown eyes. Police are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
