“Mass Pepper Spray Incident at German School Hospitalizes 12 Kids”

Twelve children were hospitalized in a significant incident at a primary school, prompting the dispatch of eight ambulances and five emergency doctors to the location in Hürth, Germany. Emergency responders assessed 49 children following an episode involving tear gas, with 19 sustaining injuries and twelve requiring hospitalization.

The fire department categorized the event as a mass casualty incident, which transpired when unidentified individuals discharged pepper spray within the school premises, as reported by German media sources.

Subsequently, the building was cleared out as fire department personnel guided students and staff to safety. The alarm was raised around 10:20 a.m., leading to the prompt arrival of eight ambulances and five emergency physicians.

Out of the 49 children evaluated for symptoms like dizziness, eye irritation, and coughing, 19 were officially designated as injured. Seven were treated onsite and released to their parents’ care, while the remainder were transported to the hospital for further attention.

The authorities cordoned off the area and have assumed control of the ongoing investigation.
