“Merseyside Aerospace Firm Enters Administration, Jobs at Risk”

Date:

A well-established aerospace engineering company located in Merseyside has entered administration. North West Precision Limited, which commenced operations in 1977, was placed into administration on May 14, potentially jeopardizing numerous jobs. Administrators Steven Muncaster and Mike Dillon from Leonard Curtis were appointed to oversee the process.

The administration covers the company known for its expertise in manufacturing precision components for air, spacecraft, and related equipment. North West Precision, a proud family-owned British firm, operates from Rock Ferry Industrial Estate in Birkenhead, with two factories serving clients such as Airbus, BAE Systems, and Hawker Beechcraft for over thirty years.

The company’s website states that new owners have secured a stable financial future, leading to sustained growth through continuous improvements and investments. North West Precision employs skilled craftsmen specializing in batch manufacturing of components and assemblies, utilizing advanced techniques like C.A.D.C.AM and C.N.C machines.

In 2016, Arlington Aerospace acquired North West Precision to enhance operational efficiency for customers in the industry. Previously, the business encountered challenges, with a related entity going into administration in 2010 before restructuring into the current limited company in 2013, as reported by the Express.

Despite facing an insolvency scare in 2023 that threatened around 60 jobs, the company continued trading until the recent administration. Administrators are now evaluating the situation and actively seeking a buyer or ways to capitalize on the company’s assets and expertise within the competitive aerospace supply chain.

The company’s most recent financial accounts, filed on June 9, 2025, for the year ending September 30, 2024, show an increase in debtors to £2.197m from £1.773m the previous year. Total assets also rose to £991,734 compared to £614,383 in 2023, with an average of 66 staff employed during the year.
