A traveler on a Ryanair flight shared a terrifying experience when a sudden burst caused chaos on the plane. Ljubisa Karović, a 61-year-old entrepreneur from Serbia, was jolted awake as the window shattered during his journey from Greece to Germany. Seated in 11F, he sustained burns and bruises on his right arm from the incident. Despite the harrowing ordeal of being partially sucked out of the window, Ljubisa expressed gratitude for surviving and attributed his survival to fate and faith.
Following the incident, Ljubisa was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he continues to endure pain. Recounting the near-death experience, his lawyer emphasized the miraculous nature of his survival, describing how Ljubisa faced imminent danger at 15,000 feet before being rescued by fellow passengers onboard. His wife, Svetlana, also recalled the chaotic moments when passengers rallied to secure her husband and prevent further tragedy.
Ryanair commended its cabin crew for their swift response during the emergency. Michael O’Leary, the company’s CEO, mentioned that preliminary investigations pointed towards engine damage caused by a foreign object during takeoff in Thessaloniki. He affirmed that the aircraft involved had undergone thorough maintenance in recent years, operated under Ryanair’s subsidiary Malta Air.
