“Tragic boat collision claims lives of two young siblings”

Date:

Two young children, a nine-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, tragically lost their lives after the vessel they were aboard collided with an Intercoastal Waterway channel marker. The incident occurred off Berkeley Township, New Jersey, on Saturday night when the children were ejected into the water from a 30-foot Tidewater Custom 280 boat.

The boat’s operator, Stephen Schneider, aged 63, and another passenger named Laurie Schneider, aged 64, found the children unresponsive in the water. Reports indicate that the Schneiders are likely the grandparents of the deceased children. Prior to embarking on the boat, the group had been at MJ’s Restaurant Bar and Grill, as per sources cited by Jersey Shore Online.

Following the collision, the children were rushed to the hospital but were later pronounced dead. The New Jersey State Police responded to the tragic incident, stating that the vessel crash involved the Tidewater Custom 280 boat hitting a channel marker, leading to the ejection of the children into the water.

The authorities mentioned that the investigation into the boat accident is ongoing, with no further information available at this time.
