Tributes are flowing in for a beloved individual who tragically lost his life after reportedly being struck by a vehicle outside a supermarket in County Durham. The incident occurred at the Asda Express garage on Stockton Road in Seaham on Thursday (January 15) around 4.50pm, prompting a response from emergency services. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, the victim was identified as Daniel Ambler, and the authorities initiated a murder investigation. Daniel, a 23-year-old, was described by his grieving family as a kind-hearted son and brother. They expressed their deep sorrow, stating that Daniel’s presence would be greatly missed, highlighting his humor, popularity among friends, and ability to bring laughter to any situation.
Durham Constabulary has launched a murder probe into Daniel’s death, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with Ashton Anderson, a 19-year-old individual wanted on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. Anderson, described as approximately 5ft 10, slim-built, with short brown hair, has had his photo released to aid in the search.
In relation to the killing, three teenagers and a man in his 50s have been arrested, while a woman in her teens and two women in their 40s were also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
