“Mystery Deepens: Ransom Notes Released in Guthrie Abduction Case”

Date:

Police in Pima County have made public two ransom notes believed to be from the abductors of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of US broadcaster Savannah Guthrie. Nancy vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, prompting the release of the letters as part of the ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s department shared the notes, hoping that the distinct writing style may be recognized by someone familiar with the author. The first note, sent on February 2 to Savannah Guthrie, claimed Nancy was safe but threatened harm if a ransom of four million dollars in cryptocurrency was not paid. The second note, addressed to the Guthrie family, sadly stated that Nancy had passed away shortly after being taken.

Authorities highlighted that surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual preparing for the incident on the night of January 31 to February 1. They urged the public to provide any information that could help identify the perpetrators.

Savannah Guthrie remains hopeful for her mother’s safe return, recently making a heartfelt plea via Instagram to anyone involved in her mother’s disappearance. In a video message, she expressed the family’s ongoing anguish and urged cooperation in locating Nancy, emphasizing that it is never too late to do the right thing.

The investigation into Nancy’s whereabouts continues, with her condition still unknown.
