The top holiday park in the country for 2026 has been unveiled, located along the stunning Norfolk coast near two popular seaside destinations.
Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village is positioned between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, just before the Suffolk border. Awarded a five-star rating by The AA, it was praised for its exceptional leisure and entertainment offerings suitable for all age groups.
The AA Caravan and Camping Awards for 2025-26 evaluated parks across the UK in various categories, with Hopton winning the prestigious AA Holiday Park of the Year award. Inspectors highlighted its beautiful seaside location, picturesque countryside backdrop, and wide range of on-site facilities.
Featuring 775 static caravans, the park is nestled in Hopton village, known for its expansive sandy beach that attracts many visitors during the summer months. Guests can easily access the beach for relaxation on the golden sands or leisurely walks along the peaceful clifftops.
Hopton village exudes a traditional seaside charm with fish-and-chip shops, lively amusements, and convenient stores. A short ten-minute drive leads to the vibrant Great Yarmouth, offering family-friendly attractions like the Pleasure Beach, SEA LIFE Centre, and pier entertainment.
Travelers can journey north from Hopton to Horsey Gap, a beach renowned for its large grey seal colony. Late October to February is pupping season, providing a great opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures from designated viewing platforms without causing disturbance.
A popular nearby attraction is Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park, around 15 miles from the park. The park caters to all age groups with a variety of rides, including plans for four new additions in 2026.
Within Hopton Holiday Village, guests can explore wildlife areas showcasing colorful birds and sea lions, along with a soft play area included in the admission fee. The site offers numerous activities such as golf, tennis, bike and kart rentals, and an inflatable arena during the summer months. Additional activities like a climbing wall, archery, and arts and crafts can be booked at the park.
The park features an extensive entertainment complex with a fish and chip shop, amusements, fast food outlets, and The Marina Bar and Stage where Haven’s entertainment team performs shows. Evening entertainment includes activities for children by The Seaside Squad, followed by bingo and family-friendly performances.
In early April, Hopton Holiday Village will introduce a new food and drink option, becoming the latest Haven park to welcome a JD Wetherspoon pub, allowing families to enjoy their favorite ‘Spoons dishes while on vacation.
Holiday breaks at Hopton Holiday Village start from £49 for a three-night stay for a family of four sharing a saver caravan. Bookings can be made on the Haven website to plan your getaway.
