A graduate from Nottingham Trent University has tragically been found deceased nearly a week after disappearing while out jogging in Peru. Jordan Maginley, aged 29, was last captured on CCTV running along the Malecón de Miraflores, a six-mile cliffside walkway in Lima, the capital of Peru, on June 14.
Originally from Peru, Maginley completed a four-year course in quantity surveying at Nottingham Trent University from 2016 to 2020. He was employed as a senior quantity surveyor at construction consultancy Gleeds, which established an office in Lima in 2020.
Reports from local media indicate that Maginley experienced a medical emergency during his run and was subsequently taken to a hospital. Due to a lack of identification, he was admitted as an unidentified patient and was not initially linked to the missing persons investigation.
Following document verification and cooperation with diplomatic authorities, Maginley’s body was identified on June 20. His disappearance had prompted a search effort after he did not return from his run. CCTV footage captured him jogging along the coastal path shortly before his disappearance.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Maginley’s untimely passing.
