The incident occurred in a wooded area near Castle Green Cemetery in Ironbridge, Telford, between 9:45 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. on December 24. The authorities at West Mercia Police were informed of the incident on Monday.
Law enforcement is working to identify a male suspect described as white, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short dark hair. The individual was reportedly dressed in dark jeans and a black coat during the assault.
Detective Constable Victoria Periton reassured the community, stating that the incident is being taken seriously with all leads being investigated diligently. She urged individuals present in the vicinity between 9:45 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. on Christmas Eve or those with information about the suspect to contact the police promptly.
Periton also emphasized the importance of refraining from speculation and encouraged anyone with concerns to communicate with the authorities. The victim is receiving support from specialized officers during this challenging time.
