Holt had previously overseen the couple’s public relations from 2019 to 2021 before shifting focus to their charitable activities post their royal exit in 2020. On the other hand, Maines decided to leave her position after just 10 months of working with Harry and Meghan, making her the eleventh publicist to part ways with the Sussexes in five years.
As the New Year kicks off and the Sussexes gear up for upcoming projects, Meghan Markle has reengaged with Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis (SSML), a celebrity PR firm she had worked with during her acting career. The firm has a history of collaboration with the Duke and Duchess since 2017, currently supporting them on the promotion of Meghan’s As Ever brand and other initiatives, especially in the US.
Sunshine Sachs, known for its expertise in crisis communications for celebrities, has a long-standing connection with Meghan, having represented her during her acting days on the show “Suits.” Meghan’s close relationship with her publicist Keleigh Thomas Morgan, now a partner at the firm, has been instrumental in translating her ideas into reality, particularly during the launch of Archewell.
In a parallel move, Prince William has brought on board a crisis management specialist, Liza Ravenscroft, to handle public relations for him and Kate. Ravenscroft, recommended by Julian Payne, a former communications secretary to Charles and Queen Camilla, is known for her adept handling of high-profile clients during challenging times.
The strategic hires of crisis-management professionals by both Prince Harry and Prince William indicate a shift towards bolstering their public image and aligning their communication strategies as they navigate their respective roles within the Royal Family.
