The Princess of Wales shared a kiss with Prince William during a charity polo match that raised over £1 million. William, playing in his usual position as number 4, led his team to victory at the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup 2025. This marked his 15th participation in the event, contributing to a total of £15 million raised for various charities over the years.
The funds raised at the match will be distributed among 10 charities supported by both William and Kate, aiding in their crucial charitable endeavors. Kate presented awards at the event, including the cup, before she and William strolled hand in hand across the pitch.
One notable beneficiary this year is Kate’s patronage, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, which is set to receive a donation for its new principal treatment center specializing in childhood cancer services. Gubby Ayida, the hospital’s CEO, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the importance of creating a comforting environment for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Additionally, The Passage, a homelessness charity close to William’s heart, will benefit from the event. William’s commitment to addressing homelessness through initiatives like the Homewards campaign was highlighted, with Mick Clarke, CEO of The Passage, appreciative of the awareness and funds raised to combat homelessness.
Meanwhile, the Wales Air Ambulance, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will also receive a donation. Dr Sue Barnes, the organization’s chief executive, praised the support from Prince William, a former air ambulance pilot, emphasizing his understanding and dedication to their cause.
These charitable contributions not only provide financial assistance but also raise awareness for vital causes, reaching a broader audience. The impact of such events extends beyond monetary donations, fostering a sense of community support and collaboration in addressing societal challenges.
